Corymbitodes pygmaeus (Van Dyke)
Correct, this is Corymbitodes pygmaeus (Van Dyke).

Moved Tentatively
Moved from Prosterninae.

Keys out fairly well in Downie and Arnett, and in Majka and Johnson (2008) recorded from NB.

Key characters included size; close, coarse umbillicate pronotal punctures; antennomere 3 similar to folling segments; pronotum longer than wide but not exaggerated. Apparently it is normally black but may occasionally have rufous elytra (hence the image from the northwest). Treated as a subgenus (along with tarsalis) of lobatus, but given species rank by Majka and Johnson (2008).

Thanks so much Blaine!

Moved from Elaterinae.

and maybe direct ventral view of prothorax (prosternum)
as direct as possible, and not at an angle.

Photos are there hope you fin
Photos are there hope you find the needed information..

darn...
I was hoping tarsal pads would point to Athous or Hemicrepidius. I'm gonna have to work harder on this one. If it's a Prosternini it may take work--the group is a mess until Johnson gets gone reassigning NA species from Ctenicera to other genera. Maybe a Corymbitodes? I'll dig around some more...
