Size: 3/4 inch long
These flies had black triangles on otherwise translucent wings. They showed up on a cattail leaf in some thick vegetation along the beginning of the path leading from the Ft. Fisher beach parking lot. They moved around and changed position quite a bit.

Probably Senopterina varia based on the strong wing markings.
