It's funny...
I was on a bird walk and a guy leaned against a tree to steady his camera for a bird in the distance. Inches from his hand I saw a large and long-legged critter slowly creeping away. Thinking it was a spider (!) I drew it to his attention. It was a cryptic praying mantis, in none too much of a hurry. (I'm guessing it's part of how it survives, by not making sudden movements.)
