Gracillariidae, lateral (Red Oak) - Phyllonorycter basistrigella

Ames - Tullamore, Story County, Iowa, USA
Size: 3.5 mm

Leaf mining larvae collected 17-Sep-2010 on Red Oak, Quercus rubra. I thought nothing had emerged but in final checking of the rearing container, 13-Dec-2011, I found 2 very dead (and tiny) adults. ID confirmed by T. Harrison.
