Gelis? - female

Gelis? - Female
Atco, Camden County, New Jersey, USA
December 22, 2011
Size: 5mm?
Not great image... Found on barn siding.
I beleive it's Gelis. Correct me if I'm wrong...

Moved
Moved from Doryctinae.

Moved
Dr. Michael Sharkey suspects that this is a new genus of Doryctinae and would like to be able to examine a specimen.

Moved from Gelis.

What are the diagnostic differences
What are the give-away's that this is a brachonid rather than an apterous ichneumonid like Gelis? I don't disagree in the slightest; Wasps are, unfortunately not my forte (I'm more of a fly and beetle guy), but I'm trying to learn more for use within my own work as an insect identifier, and such apterous ichneumonoids have come up previously in the field samples I've received.

Braconid!
Sorry, but I didn't catch it (I never catch or rear...) and that was a first and only time I saw this wasp...
Please say sorry to Dr. Sharkey... Thank you for your help both!

Perhaps
Perhaps the species has already found its way into an insect collection of a New Jersey or Pennsylvania university.

Dunno
I don't know what this is, but the structure of the petiole might exclude Gelis.

Oh, I see...
So... still within Ichneumon or possible other wasps?
Should I move to Family level for now?
