Black Witch Moth Ascalapha Odorata - Ascalapha odorata - Female
Cape May, Cape May County, New Jersey, USA
October 28, 2011
It was found by a small group of people, led by a naturalist, right below the lighthouse on the shore, in Cape May. It was a very windy and cold day and the naturalist was able to handle the moth, so that we were fortunate enough to photograph it. It was returned to the bushes where it had been found. A once in a lifetime find for most of us!
