Yellow Spider in Lemon Lily - Misumena vatia

Yellow Spider in Lemon Lily - Misumena vatia
Boston, Erie County, New York, USA
December 31, 1969
i found this creature in my mother's garden while i was there for a visit. the markings mached the lily it had made it's home in perfectly, and also moved from flower to flower as they wilted. on two occasions i found it with a honeybee. i watched it camoflauge itself with front four legs widespread to imitate the curve of the flowers petals. i checked on it daily, camera in tow, for about 4 or 5 days, it being there possibly a few more days before i stumbled upon it. i was under the impression that this may be Misumenoides Formosipes (according to google), but i am not certain.

i have many more close up shots of this arachnid in it's natural habitat here: http://flickr.com/photos/whatserface/sets/72157594180894682/
