Colonial Spider? - Leucauge argyra

Colonial Spider? - Leucauge argyra
Wakodahatchee Wetlands, Palm Beach County, Florida, USA
December 17, 2011
This spider and at least 5 others of the same type occupied a large apparently communal web, not an orb. Its appearance was similar to but distinct from the Orchard Orb Weavers that I saw in many locations in South Florida. The web was not similar, very large and asymmetrical with a number of spiders distributed about 20 to 30 cm. apart from each other.
