Happy New Year to you, too! Back to the fly -- I notice that there are data points from Ontario (larva), Vermont, Maine and Massachusetts besides all the records from the western states for this genus. The name -- Rocky Mountain Bite Fly -- does make it seem like this is a western fly, though.
