Orthoptera - nymph, abdomen - Melanoplus walshii - male

Orthoptera - nymph, abdomen - Melanoplus walshii - Male
Plymouth Rock, Winneshiek County, Iowa, USA
August 21, 2011
Out of all those eggs I ended up with one live nymph which I let go. And I only found 2 dead ones, a male and a female and not that many sheds. For something that seems prolific I certainly didn't do a very good job at rearing.
