Desert cockroach Arenivaga sp male 1 - Arenivaga erratica - male

Desert cockroach Arenivaga sp male 1 - Arenivaga erratica - Male
Borrego Springs, San Diego County, California, USA
March 28, 2004
Size: BL 22 mm
This cockroach was found on the wall inside our house. We took it outside to photo, and it promptly dug into some sand and disappeared. I think it is an Arenivaga sp. At least three species are listed from this area: A. erratica, A. apache and A. investigata. I have one other male that looks a little different that I will post next. I am trying to determine if I have one or two species here. Any help is much appreciated.
