Size: ~10 mm
I keyed this out to be Chrysops indus using (1).

I moved this to the genus level for further confirmation. If confirmed, first data point for Michigan for BG.

Could be indus
This could be Chrysops indus but I can't see the face (key couplet 7). Is the face all yellow, as in figure 47?
