Carabidae? - Amara

Carabidae? - Amara
Logy Bay, Northeast Avalon, Newfoundland/Labrador, Canada
June 29, 2006
Size: 8 mm
This beetle was crawling on our concrete driveway about 5:00 PM. I would ssume that it's Carabidae. Is that correct? Can anyone offer a genus/species?

Amara sp.
This appears to be a ground beetle in the genus Amara, or something closely related.

Amara sp.
looks close. Amara is a seed eater. Captive specimens readily take rolled oats. Compare with other members of this genus.

Thanks!
Thanks to both you, Jim, and Eric. This bettle certainly does look like many of the other photos in Amara. I'll move it there.
