Syrphid larvae??

Found on thistle head. Could they be larvae for Larinus planus perhaps?

Have been around a bit on this one (originally wondered about weevil larvae) but I think they may actually be Syrphid larvae. Just blew up rear of one of them (second & third photos) and you can just see the breathing tubes.

For some reason...
these make me think of plume moth caterpillars, although I haven't found pictures of any that look much like this. A lot of pterophorids are associated with Asteraceae, I think.
