if it wasn't Ophiogomphus severus

 
Why?
Please don't think I am being rude; I am honestly curious. The seperated eyes indicate Clubtail; but what other morphological features are you using? Flight period, range, what substrate it chose to emerge on, etc? Without it being mature or identifying the exuvia what clues are you using for tenerals? Thanks!

Sorry for the slow response, was away for the week.
A quick scan through Paulson's book shows only 6 or so Gomphids found anywhere near Wyoming. Unless they fade very quickly, most of them have more dark on the thorax. It also has the fairly stocky look of an Ophiogomphus to me.
