Platycryptus undatus - jumping spiders with earwig - Platycryptus californicus

Platycryptus undatus - jumping spiders with earwig - Platycryptus californicus
Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah, USA
July 1, 2006
I found this tiny jumping spider eating what I think is an earwig (pincers at the end). When I got the photo processed I saw some spider legs at the other end (hiding under the wood). Two spiders sharing the same insect. Kinda cool!

Difference?
Jay, what makes this one different than the undatus? Is it just location?

See my
response to Lynette's question for more information. For even more, check out the Print References. The paper by Barnes has full descriptions, with undatus starting on page 36 and californicus on page 39.

Okay.
Thanks. That answered my question.
