Rowland, will you please tell me what characteristics helped you decide on that species(Appalachian xystodesmid)?
I agree with Ken -The photo is not the best quality, but it was the best image that I got of that individual.

 
It's not the best image...
...but it would be a new genus for BG. Is it worth creating a new page?

Millipede, yes...
...but it's not a larva or pupa. Millipedes don't have those stages; they simply gain segments and legs with each moult.
