Red spider with yellow stripes

Red spider with yellow stripes
Soquel, Santa Cruz County, California, USA
January 1, 2012
Notice the radial yellow stripes on the cephalothorax. I'm not sure if they are markings or structural features.

Moved
Moved from Spiders. Could also be Lynphia sp. I don't know the mark on the carapace appears to be solid which is throwing me off.

Another spider, another spider family!
This reminds me of the early days with insects! Thanks for the information.

Moved
Moved from ID Request. Maybe one of the Pityohyphantes.

It has the look of Linyphiinae
but we can't tell you much more. Maybe Mandy will be able give you more information?
