With temps last night rising well into the 40's, even after the rains ended, I searched in vain for moths around the house. Nothing but several large flies and a few mosquito-like insects.
This morning, I chanced to look at the screen of a sliding door and found this little beauty. It appears very crisp and colorful for the species, as if it had just emerged.

There was also a micro-type moth close by but it flew as I approached with the camera. Too bad.

Found on a sliding screen door in a suburban wooded environment.
