Thanks Bob. I searched for this genus and found a key by Cushman, 1937. Had to try it a few times since I'm not familiar at all (yet!) with these insects but eventually, the result I got is Exetastes nervulus rufofemoratus. This specimen is an excellent match with the description of the key.

From EOL, the E. nervulus subspecies are now included in E. fornicator, so that'd make it Exetastes fornicator rufofemoratus, if you agree. I will add a few extra close ups of the beast.

 
Revision
The Townes and Townes revision of 1978 is the latest work on North American Exetastes. They recognize many subspecies of the Eurasian fornicator, several of which are partly or largely sympatric. We are stuck with this mess for the time being.
