possibly a bytu*rid? - Loberus impressus
Nashua, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
June 26, 2006
Size: about 2,2 mm
Came to UV lights. Although it doesn't look as hairy as others I've seen, I suspect this beetle belongs in Bytu*ridae.

Languriidae: Loberus impressus
The color isn't bright like it should be, but looks like the one Tom picked up. Keep for me please.

Formerly placed in the Cryptophagidae.

Only one species of byturid in the east, another in the west.

I think I've got a couple of these for you.
They've showed up at least three times at my lights.
