E. ventricosus
This appears to be the same species as that seen on
this web page
, and referred to there as "
Edrotes orbus
" (see
Casey, 1907
). But
E. orbus
has been in synonymy with the variable
E. ventricosus
since the
1947 treatment of the genus by La Rivers
. In this form of
E. ventricosus
, the long white hairs do not form four clear longitudinal lines per elytra, but instead appear more randomly scattered.
