Size: 7mm
I collected this beetle many years ago. It was one of several found on some Jimson Weed (
Datura stramonium
) plants.

Pobably not Datura stramonium
Around here the most likely species is
Datura wrightii

... for the correct species ID for the host plant of this weevil. I did a Cal Flora map distribution check for both Datura species and
Datura wrightii
was the species for San Diego county by way more than a long shot! : )
