Beetle - Cyclocephala

Beetle - Cyclocephala
Sycamore Cyn Campground, Pt Mugu State Park, Ventura County, California, USA
June 26, 2006
Size: 1/2-1 inch
Came to light at night in a campground under sycamore (Platanus racemosus), elderberry (Sambucus cerulea) and walnut (Juglans californica) near a slow-moving creek.

I have details from other images showing different aspects of the dorsal view if you need to look at features not clear in this image.

Moved
Moved from Beetles.

Cyclocephala sp.
One of the 'masked chafers' - several spp. in California

A beetle by different names
I think this is a June Beetle...I'm from WI, and we call them June Bugs....As I found out many people call them May Beetles...Hopefully I'm right, and this helped you out
