Ruddy Daggerwing - Marpesia petreus Coconut Creek, Broward County, Florida, USA
Marpesia petreus is named after the dagger like tails which this species possesses. Sometimes seen drinking moisture from the ground, a habit called puddling, they also feed on nectar and rotting fruit.
