My only guess is that this is a "Giant Leopard Moth" caterpillar. Thanks ahead for your help!

Careful with the spines on this one
They can be painful. This is a moth in the genus Hemileuca. Ryan may be able to tell you which one.

Definitely H. maia
The only species of
Hemileuca
found in Alabama.
