Note ant. shape and color, thickness and length of median process, tubercle on postocular lateral margin, pronotal spines, and sinuate scutellum as discussed in Matsuda (1977). (1)

Of the spp. treated by Matsuda (1977)(1), A. similis fits best based on ant. shape and color, thickness and length of median process, tubercle on postocular lateral margin (visible in accompanying photo), pronotal spines, sinuate scutellum, etc. (See suite of ID characters on sp. info pg)
