Moved from Ground Beetles.

nice!

Moved for expert attention
Moved from ID Request. Looks interesting, but I'm not familiar with the western fauna. Hopefully Peter or Tim will know.

"Laemostenus"
is a western and far northeastern genus in tribe Platynini that is not at all familiar to me. Kip Will's ability call this one to species level was a life saver. Most of us I'm sure would have struggled with this one as being just another nondescript Platynus-like ground beetle.

Kim, thank you for your valuable photo submission. If ever you capture another one of these, I would love to receive it for microscopic study and have it deposited into my comparative taxonomic collection of North American Carabidae.

Carabid hunt
I will keep an eye out for it and collect it for you if I see it again. Thanks for the id.
