Leptotrachelus Latreille 1829
Greek leptos 'thin, fine' + trachelos 'neck'

Identification
Adult: pronotum narrow, longer than wide, at apex as wide as posterior part of head; tarsomere 4 deeply notched at apex, bilobed; abdominal terga completely covered(2)
Range
Neotropical genus ranging north to NY-ON-SD; in our area, L. dorsalis widespread in the east and L. pallidulus is known from scattered localities in TN, LA, TX(1)
