I know L. hesperus occurs in the southwest but I'm not sure if mactans also occurs in New Mexico. I want to confirm this is hesperus.

Subadult male
I have a note (from unknown source) that says
L. hesperus
is the only
Latrodectus
species whose adult male is not black. But this specimen is subadult, IMO.
