Grammia virguncula - Apantesis virguncula

Grammia virguncula - Apantesis virguncula
lakewood, oconto County, Wisconsin, USA
July 2, 2006
when I looked at the other pictures, I couldn't get a good match. It was yellow and black, and the hind wings were orange. They didn't have spots like the other pictures, it looked like it had lines

Grammia
This is either Grammia virguncula or G. speciosa. Based on the wing pattern and the white streak on the protibiae (dorsally), it's one of the two. I'm leaning toward virguncula, but I say that with reservations.
