Beetle on Monarda maybe Sand chafer? - Strigoderma arbicola
Marietta Sand Prairie State Preserve, Marshall County, Iowa, USA

This kind of looks like a Japanese beetle but not the right color, so I think it is the Sand chafer - Strigoderma arbicola. Would appreciate ID? Thanks.

Strigoderma, sure --must be arbicola indeed
others will confirm species, i'm away from my books
