Red beetles - Dictyoptera simplicipes

Red beetles - Dictyoptera simplicipes
Stebbins Cold Canyon Reserve, Solano County, California, USA
February 15, 2012
Size: Aproximately 1 cm long.
Several of these beetles were on a large rotting Pinus sabiniana log eating a slime mold, a few retreated into holes in the log when I approached.

Doing a little reading, if I understand correctly the reddish first segment on the antenna and red legs that is diagnostic for this species?

Golden Net-wing?
