I can see no more than 7 rows of setae, hence moved to undulata.

I see no difference
between this beetle and Lobiapa undulata and I have a PhD candidate who specializes in Nitidulidae who says it is undulata. Why do you think this id setosa?

setae rows
from the ever-fallible D&A, the Lobiapa key states L. setosa has "9 distinct rows of setae", while L. undulata has "6-7 rows of distinct setae". L. setosa also appears to be a little bigger - listed at 5.0-6.5mm vice 3.6-5.3mm for L. undulata.
To me, both yours and the one L. undulata currently in BugGuide from Nicholus both look to have more than 7 rows of setae. So there's probably something I'm missing here.

Andrew Cline,
in personal communication of July 21, 2008, also says this one is L. undulata. I reckon we need to round up an image that these experts all agree is L. setosa so we can study the differences ourselves. The name rather suggests a six-legged hairball but I guess the difference will be nothing so dramatic.

agree,
MCZ's got L. setosa, but the elytra look like an iced cake, making counting rows of setae a lost cause.
