Poplar Tentmaker - Clostera inclusa

Poplar Tentmaker - Clostera inclusa
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
July 5, 2006
Size: approx. 2.5 cm
2 of these caterpillars were found feeding on Poplar. They built little homes of silk between the leaves and would occasionally come out and feed. They use to look black and green at an earlier instar.

Surprised there were only two!
This appears to be Clostera inclusa - Angle-lined Prominent, also called The Poplar Tentmaker! Images in Wagner, pg 281, and also in the guide here

Thanks!
Yes, I found it in Wagner's guide, thanks. Hope these guys live until pupation !!! I'll definately try to get pics of the adults up.
