Midge larva?

Midge larva?
Middlesex Fells, Somerville, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
March 3, 2012
Found this in a vernal pool that has stayed wet all winter. My wife tells me this is probably a midge larva, any help in confirming or narrowing that down would be great. Thanks!
