What the heck.... - Hesperonemastoma modestum - Female
Enumclaw, King County, Washington, USA
March 6, 2012
Size: ~ 1.5 mm
From Berlese trap, have no idea what this is....

Moved
Moved from ID Request.

From Rod Crawford:
Hesperonemastoma modestum (Banks), female Family Ischyropsalididae

(your site is using a splitter's family classification that places it in the - IMO non-existent - family Ceratolasmatidae).

Interesting!
I think it's a Harvestman (order Opiliones), but I've never seen palps that long! It looks like it has 10 legs! Wish I knew these guys better... they're on my 'list' of things to get to know. Maybe Rod Crawford will recognize it?

Specimen preserved...
in laval preservation fluid in case anyone is interested in the specimen, including Rod Crawford.

We should
probably give it to him.... and make this a voucher specimen.

Thank you so much..
For the I.D. and in contacting Rod. I'll plan to save the specimen until such time I can get it to him... Thanks again.

weird looking
it looks like a ten-legged fungus ridden harvestman. I'll email Rod & see what he says.

.
. (oops, sorry)
