Small Ground beetle - Notiophilus
Rancho Santa Fe, San Diego County, California, USA
November 26, 1973
Size: 4mm
Perhaps a genus Notiophilus beetle (1) ?
Somewhat similar to Notiophilus semiopacus also from San Diego County. (2).
My thanks for confirmation or otherwise!

This beetle was caught in a pit-fall trap within mixed scrub-oak and coastal sage scrub habitat.
