They were flying low - Cremastocheilus mexicanus
Kitt Peak Rd, Pima County, Arizona, USA
March 16, 2012

Moved

Cremastocheilus mexicanus
spring has started!

There was anotherone with red legs
probably the same, then. There were red Pogos around. Could they be the host?

My guess is C. hirsutus
though there is not much hair

hope Bill gets to it (or, even better, sees the specimen)
among those already in the guide, C. mexicanus looks to me as the closest match, pronotum-wise (not so much the elytra)

Tagged him on his
fb page, will party together Tuesday, will bring the specimens - he can't escape! (:

wunderbar.
