Brachypterous cynipid parasitoid - Aprostocetus - female

Brachypterous cynipid parasitoid - Aprostocetus - Female
A few miles south of Winona, Montgomery County, Mississippi, USA
Size: 1.4 mm
Over the winter I was sent a box of Nuttall oak acorns containing cynipid galls, and yesterday (3/18/2012) these little parasitoids started emerging. All of them are brachypterous like this. More specific location info forthcoming.

Thanks. These were jumpy, which I feel like I've seen with eulophids more than with other chalcids (though that may be partly because I seem to get more eulophids than anything else).

Eulophid…
This one's a female. The literature does mention brachyopterous or even apterous members, although they are certainly not common.
