Renia brevirostralis type locality: PA, AL
Renia salusalis (Walker, 1859) currently is known to range throughout the southeast, but DNA barcoding suggests that specimens from Florida and Alabama may constitute a a separate species. The type locality is unknown so which population would represent the undescribed species is likewise unknown.
Most similar in the female to R. discoloralis and R. fraternalis. Some intermediate specimens might be externally unidentifiable.
