Body length?
Good job, Stan. Based on the penes configuration, I believe it to be of species L. cupida.

However, the reported body length of 16 mm does surprise me. Mayfly body length is measured from the front of the head to the end of the abdomen, not including the tails. For L. cupida, it would be customary to be somewhere within the range of 8-12.5 mm, and probably not more than 11 mm, as the males have somewhat shorter bodies than the females. Please advise.

Thanks, Roger.
I measured this little captive just now. He is 14mm long.
I took the closeup through a piece of plastic.
I thought of waiting until he expires and trying to get a clearer shot.

What does the greater length mean, then? Shall I send you the specimen?

Length
Stan-

Don't have an explanation for the greater than normal length. Sure, send it to me. I will provide you with instructions and an address via email.

Great.
