Snout nose weevil? - Toxonotus cornutus

Snout nose weevil? - Toxonotus cornutus
Oak Ridge, Guilford County, North Carolina, USA
March 20, 2012
Size: ~ 1/4 in.
came to porch light.
Knobby on elytra and pronotum.
Looks a little like Euparius, but I can't find any good matches.

Reminds me of a possum or some kind of road kill.

here we are... lovely bug, Stan.
'Snout nose weevil' is sure one funny coinage... is there such a name? just curious

Moved from ID Request.

Prof. V., I thought I looked through all the Anthribidae last
night, but it appears that I didn't make it to page 4 of the fungus weevils lineup.
I don't see how you and the other experts can know so much!

As to the imaginary coinage, sometimes I amaze myself. I get sleepy in front of the cathode ray tube...snout and nose are the same, now, aren't they!
