Tullbergiidae Springtail

Tullbergiidae Springtail
Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, USA
February 16, 2012
Size: .75mm
About a month ago I found this tiny springtail grazing on the algae underneath a rock. This was probably the smallest springtail I've found. It was about .75mm long and only .1mm thick! There were a bunch of Onychiuridae springtail nearby and I just assumed it was a juvenile. But when I posted the photos on Flickr, Frans identified this miniscule springtail as a member of the Family Tullbergiidae. I think these are the first photos of a springtail in this family on the guide.
