This specimen may be an example of the Hoary Pinion (9917). This specimen was collected and is archived in the NDSIRC at NDSU, Fargo, North Dakota (contact Dr. Gerald Fauske). A tissue sample from this specimen, taken for later DNA analysis, is archived at UND, Grand Forks, North Dakota (contact Dr. Rebecca Simmons).

Thank you for the ID confirmation! ;-) We're seeing some interesting early season moths in our locale this year. I recon that this year should be a bonanza one for 'moths' in Minnesota and North Dakota, I think. ;-)
