Explanation of Names
Thorybes nevada Scudder, 1872, formerly a subspecies of Thorybes mexicana (Herrich-Schäffer, 1869) is raised to full species status with ananius Plötz, 1881 and blanca Scott, 1981 as synonyms in Zhang et al. (2020). T. mexicana is extralimital north of Mexico.
