Green Lacewing - Chrysopa nigricornis

Green Lacewing - Chrysopa nigricornis
Puxico / Mingo National Wildlife Refuge, Stoddard County, Missouri, USA
March 24, 2012
Size: Body ~ .8 inch (20.5mm)
I happened by this Lacewing shortly after it must have crawled from its skin. I watched as it began filling its wings with air (I think) to stretch them out. It was "pumping its body up and down with its legs. In about 11 minutes, the wings were nearly developed.
