Cuckoo Wasp - Pseudomalus

Cuckoo Wasp - Pseudomalus
Sierra City, Sierra County, California, USA
June 26, 2006
The wasp was more greenish in natural light. The flash altered the color.

Moved
Moved from Elampini.
Judging from the clumped punctures in the centre of scutum it is Pseudomalus.

Moved
Moved from Elampinae.

Elampinae.
Finally, a cuckoo wasp in the subfamily Elampinae. Probably Omalus species. Neat find, nice image. Folks, look for these around aphid colonies. Some have copper or ruby-colored abdomens.
