Polyphemus arrival - Antheraea polyphemus - Female

Some time in mid-April, John was working in the front wildflower garden under the oak and found this cocoon in among the oak leaf litter. It seemed pretty heavy so we brought it in and put it in a large plastic jar. We took this picture on May 3rd.
