Beluga Point, Anchorage County, Alaska, USA
March 29, 2012
Size: 6.5 mm
Immature Petridiobius arcticus. This individual would have hatched out in April or May 2011, so it would have been about 11 months old. The animal was collected on March 28, 2011 in rocky habitat at Beluga Point, then brought into a lab to be photographed in a petri dish with sand glued to the bottom. The shape of the lateral ocelli and the pigmentation are typical of P. arcticus.
